09 Aug PolySmooth™ & Polysher™ Now Available to Pre-Order

The pre-order for Polysher™ & PolySmooth™ is now available. Since the Polysher™ & PolySmooth™ launched on Kickstarter April 25th earlier this year, there has been a huge buzz around these exciting new products. Revolutionising the surface quality of 3D printed objects PolySmooth™ and the Polysher™ offer a solution to the layers that have plagued the technology since its dawn.  The Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded within hours and subsequently charged on to gain 433% funding. Since then Polymaker have been busy arranging the logistics to start shipping units to their backers in September. Now customers located in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico) can pre-order their units ready for shipping in November from www.polymaker.com. If you are located outside of North America please see our resellers list to find the best location for your pre-order.

“For extrusion-based 3D printing, the poor surface quality has always been a prominent disadvantage which separates 3D printed parts and parts made by conventional manufacturing methods, what we want to do is to bridge this gap, bringing 3D printing to the realm of making final products, not just prototypes.” –  Dr. Xiaofan Luo, CEO Polymaker.

PolySmooth™ the brand new PVB based filament is already in production at Polymaker HQ, available to pre-order in 7  vibrant colors including the breakthrough PolySmooth™ Transparent. PolySmooth™ Transparent was released late into the Kickstarter campaign, but soon became the most popular color available. Largely due to its impressive optical clarity, PolySmooth™ Transparent once polished inside the Polysher™ is surely the most optically clear filament available today. When layered up the filament displays a deep pearlescent color, unseen before on the market. PolySmooth™ has almost identical printing characteristics as PLA and therefore can be used on almost any extrusion-based, FDM/FFF 3D printer. Boasting impact resistance and tensile strength that will outperform PLA & ABS, PolySmooth™ PVB doesn’t just rely on its “smoothability” to turn heads, it’s a genuinely great material to work with.

The simply designed Polysher™ is very easy to use, and the smoothing action is entirely automated. Simply place the 3D printed part in the chamber, set the timer and the model will start to smooth right away. Once the polishing process is complete, the drying system will dissipate the alcohol mist and the part will quickly start drying. After a minute of drying, the Polysher™ can be opened and the plate will raise a smoothed part to the top so it can be easily removed from the chamber.

The Polysher™ uses commonly found alcohol, easily obtained in supermarkets, hardware stores or pharmacies as its active polishing ingredient. Safe to touch and widely used in cosmetics, the Polysher™ is very safe to use. The alcohol is never heated to form a dangerous vapor, instead a piezo-electric nebulizer creates a cold mist of alcohol in the chamber. Furthermore the Polysher™ has a number of safety features to ensure the well-being of its users, including nebulizer sensors and a fully sealed chamber.

Polymaker will ship all rewards to the Kickstarter backers first,  after that the earliest pre-orders will start to ship. Get your pre-order in now for PolySmooth™ & the Polysher™ to experience this break through technology first hand.
